Helping Your Pool Keep It's Cool

July 31, 2015

Summer is here, and the weather is hot!  Leisure Depot wants you to enjoy your backyard oasis even when the temperatures are soaring! Here are a few quick tips to keep you cool, during these hot months.

During the hottest months of the summer, pool water temperatures can reach the low to mid 90’s, which most people do not find enjoyable to swim in. A common question in the summer tends to be “How do I cool off my water?”

The easiest way to cool your water off is to use an aerator or pool fountain. An aerator is an attachment that plugs or screws into the side of your pool that sprays a fountain of water back into your pool. Oxygen is then introduced to the small droplets of water that are sprayed through the air and when it lands back into the pool, it helps bring the pool temperature down a few degrees. It is easy to install a fountain, and it will work on almost any pool. It is a simple attachment that will install on most common swimming pool returns (the fitting that returns fresh filtered water back to the pool).

Another great way to cool your pool is with shade. You can provide shade to any pool with a cantilever umbrella. Just like sitting under a shade tree can help you cool off, shading some of your pool water can help keep it cooler.

There are also heat pumps that have the ability to cool the water. These heaters/coolers will help keep your pool the coolest in the neighborhood! They will also work to warm your pool during the cooler months. So you get the best of both worlds and extend your swim season even further! Our specialists at Leisure Depot will be happy to talk you through the best option for your situation and keep your pool refreshing all Summer long!
